Have you ever wondered how  a claim will affect your insurance rates? Is it the dollar amount or the number of claims? Most insurance company rates are determined by the number of claims rather than the dollar amount. For example three $800 claims will affect your rates more than  one $100,000 claim. keep that in mind when deciding whether to turn in a small claim or just pay for it yourself.
